That being said, Kenickie is “tough, surly, and avoids any show of softness.” Basing him off that, I was thinking one of the following pets:

I was thinking Glacier because they are “cold” looking and I can afford that right now. HOWEVER, if you think something else would fit better, please feel free to recommend it to me!
